Letter to the Mayor

If you remember the post “my thoughts” I ended with stating that I wanted to get involved. This letter and all those who will sign it with me is my attempt to get more involved. I couldn’t belive the number of criminal acts Maurice Clemons had prior to the Lakewood police officer shooting. What is wrong with our judicial system? Why did the judges and governor let him out on the streets? He was CLEARLY a danger and great risk to society.

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ A LITTLE ABOUT HIS CRIMINAL HISTORY HERE AND ALSO READ THE LETTER I WROTE BELOW. EMAIL (Kali@kalileenstraphoto.com) OR LEAVE ME A COMMENT IF YOU WISH FOR ME TO ADD YOUR NAME TO THE LETTER.

Dear Mayor,
I am writing this letter on behalf of the Lakewood police officer shooting incident. I am asking for you to sequester Judge John McCarthy and Thomas Felnagle, review their past cases, see that they personally apologize to the families of the police officers and publicly state what there reasons for setting such a low bail amount after knowing Maurice Clemmons countless criminal history.
John McCarthy and Thomas Felnagle’s poor judgment call directly resulted in the death of four of Seattle’s Police officers. Nothing they can do can bring back the husbands, the wife the sons, the daughter, the friends, parents, brothers and sister that were lost. They cannot restore the heartbroken and shattered families. Their sequestering and further review of past cases can prevent this tragedy from happening again and help other Judges to think twice about their bail amount.
My motive in this request is to prevent other unnecessary deaths, crime and risks to society. Maurice Clemons had over 15 serious felonies during his lifetime. Why did it take the death of four police officers to put an end to his criminal activity? I am looking to you to insure that changes are made and that Judge McCarthy and Felnagle are brought to justice.
Please reply to my letter and let me know if you will abide by my request. If my request is ignored I will assume that you see no fault in these judges actions and furthermore are letting down the families of those who died serving their community.

December 4, 2009 - 9:00 am Jennifer Crowther - Add my name to the list. We just talked Sunday about supporting the local government and being involved. Good going.

December 4, 2009 - 9:55 am Richard Taylor - I woke up this morning wishing that I wasn’t an American. I cried at the news of the three young sailors being court-martialed. I’m disgusted with our leaders and I’m ashamed at how they treat those who sacrifice their lives for our freedoms. These three Navy Seals were court Marshaled for “roughing up” one of the most heinous criminals of our time. The shameful way our leaders bow to those who want to kill us and destroy our way of life is unconscionable and cannot be tolerated. Those leaders, Military or civilian, are the ones that should be brought to justice. Those weak willed liver livered, reprobates that announced their decision against those brave and courageous, young men are the ones that should be court-martialed and stripped of all they have earned and all of their power and influence. The two judges in Washing ton State, who allowed that murderous cop killer free on a ridiculously low bail after defiling an innocent child should be jailed themselves and made to suffer the consequences of their self serving, politically motivated actions that caused the death of four valiant policemen and women who risked their lives every day to keep our streets and communities safe. How can we look at ourselves in the mirror each day while these traitorous leaders destroy our way of life, a life that was built on courage, tenacity and bravery? How can we allow these leaders to continue in their exalted positions as they methodically undermine the constitution and the very laws that were enacted to protect us? I for one will not continue to do nothing. I have promised myself that I will fight for those freedoms. I will commit myself to exposing those who cannot be trusted to follow the laws set by our Founding Fathers. I will not longer be silent. This is our time to fight, our time to usher back the greatest country that has ever been. America is on the brink of destruction, not from outside forced but from within. There is a cancer eating away at our goodness, a disease so infectious that if not cut away it will infect us all. Because I love my family and I want them to remain free, I will be fighting. As of now I am a soldier in the fight against those who want to destroy me and my family. I cannot do this alone, but alone I will fight if need be. I would like your help, join me and others as we take our country back. Richard Taylor

December 4, 2009 - 6:04 pm Matt - Kali thanks for posting this. Me and Michelle lived in Lakewood for 3 years before moving to Idaho and the thought of something like this happening where once lived is heart sickening. Thank you for writing this letter and sharing how you feel. There are many more that feel this way as do I. It is sad to think they can let a hardened criminal go free, and can't grant clemency to a U.S. Soldier for following commands and doing his job.

December 7, 2009 - 9:22 pm Christa K. - Kali add mine and jason's name to your petition. We support you!
